Sino Micro Remote Sensing Inc. (MicroRS) is a specialized enterprise in
China engaged in research,
development and production of weather radars with multiple
frequency bands and systems, and it is the only
company
producing new-type phased Array Doppler weather radar system.
MicroRS is a standard setting
enterprise in China for military
and civil weather radars and the standard making enterprise for the
“General
Specifications for Weather Radars”, “General
Specifications for Military Dual-pol Doppler Weather Radars”
and the national military standard “General Specifications for
Phased Array WeatherRadars”.
MicroRS developed successfully the
first weather radar (Model 703 Typhoon-finding Radar) in China,
and so far has developed and produced over 400 weather radar
systems. Its customers mainly include China
Meteorological
Administration, civil aviation air space management bureaus,
hydrological departments,
agricultural sector, aerospace
testing centers, salt industry sector and military forces. At
present, MicroRS is
in a position to provide various specs
different grade weather radar products as per customer
requirements
in L, S, C, X, Ka frequency bands, including
conventional digital, IF coherent Doppler, full coherent
Doppler,
dual-pol full coherent Doppler and phased array full
coherent Doppler systems, either in stationary or mobile
type
as well as system integration and services. MicroRS’s weather radar
products have made outstanding
contributions in national key
projects and activities, such as satellite launching, earthquake
rescue and
Olympic Games. MicroRS’s product series mainly
include the following:
(1)X/C/S-band Weather Radar Series
The X/C/S-band weather radar series includes IF coherent Doppler,
full coherent Doppler and dual-pol
full coherent Doppler
systems, among which the X/C-band systems can be provided in mobile
vehicle or mobile
shelter type (carried by vehicle). The client
includes military forces and China Meteorological
Administration.
(2)New Generation Weather Radar Series for
Aviation Terminal Application The new generation
weather radar
series for aviation terminal application is of
dual-pol full
coherent Doppler system either in dual-transmit dual-receive mode or
in single-transmit dualreceive mode. By means of the optimized
design with the aid of military and civil aviation weather
departments,
air space management departments and other
relevant customers, the weather radar is applied to detect
continuously the ambient weathers, process and generate a variety of
weather products for direction of
service operation and flight
safety in aviation weather support.
(3)Integrated Meteorological
Observation Vehicle
The integrated meteorological observation
vehicle is equipped with strategic tactical hydroMet
support
system, integrating in design the multiple observation equipment
(radar, weather observation
instrument, visibility sensor,
lightning observation device, laser ceilometer, hydrological
observation
equipment and so on) and communication equipment
(dual frequency radio station, multi-service
transmission
device, etc.), it can maneuver rapidly to the designated area for
performance of composite
hydroMet detection mission and provide
in time the field hydroMet information to the command center
for
decision-making and field support service.
(4)C-band
Phased Array Weather Radar
The C-band phased array weather radar
is of a phased array full coherent Doppler system, it is able
to
process rapidly the changing hydroMet events in a very short
observation time so as to perform more
accurate weather
forecast.
(5)Full Solid State Doppler Weather Radar
The full
solid state Doppler weather radar products cover Ka, X, C and S
frequency bands, and are able
to meet the supporting
requirements for meteorological research and business operation in
military
aviation, military events and scientific research
activities.
(6)Millimeter Wave Cloud-finding Radar Series
The millimeter wave cloud-finding radar series is divided into
Doppler and dual-pol Doppler systems,
either in mobile vehicle
or mobile shelter type (carried by vehicle). The millimeter wave
Doppler cloud-finding
radar is capable of detecting weather
targets ranging from cloud particles in several micrometer in
diameter
to weak precipitation particles. The millimeter wave
dual-pol Doppler cloud-finding radar is added with dualpol
function for identification of cloud etage and super-cooled water,
this is of great importance to the
aircraft icing
identification.
(7)Automatic Area Precipitation Monitoring
System
The automatic monitoring system for area precipitation
consists of the X-band precipitation
monitoring radar and
droplet detector with advanced remote sensing and telemetry
techniques, and is used
for city waterlogging prevention,
reservoir flood control and basin-wide water monitoring as well as
for onsite emergency services by hydroMet departments at the
prefecture-level and county-level.
